Modernizations
During the long life of paper-making machines, especially the controls and drives become obsolete. The development of electrical engineering at SPS is steadily progressing. Many machines are still equipped with a Siemens S5 control system, while TIA Portal is already used on new machines.
The same applies to the drives. There are still many machines with DC drives and a Simoreg control, while with new machines Sinamics is standard.
Modernization of paper machines and roller cutters has already been successfully implemented with ABB and SIemens components. Also the "exotics" like Allan Bradley, Rockwell or Ahlstom are common to us.
